The Cyclorama: A Rule Monster
Rules are meant to be broken… unless it’s regarding the bright white, and extremely easy to get dirty, Cyclorama.
It’s costly and time-consuming to paint and repair the wall and any damage will incur an additional cost to your rental. So, please treat this beautiful monster with respect and follow these rules:
Make sure the soles of your shoes are completely clean
There are a few options to make sure your shoes are Cyc Wall ready.
You can wash/dry the soles
Tape the soles of your shoes
Use the sticky mat provided until you get all the dirt from the soles
Do not assume that bare feet or socks are clean!
When possible, use the provided protective mat
The only time anyone should veer off the mat is if they are being photographed full length.
And, you guessed it, make sure anyone stepping off the mat onto the floor has completely clean feet!
No stepping, jumping, or skating on the curve or cove
Make sure anyone using the cyclorama is keeping at least 4 feet from walls at all times.
Do not Touch the Walls
Even the cleanest hands can make a smudge on the wall.
Do not lean on the wall.
Do not drag stands, tripods, furniture, or equipment
This rule applies to both the cyclorama floor and the protective mat. Both surfaces can be easily damaged.
No Tape on the Cyclorama Floor
The floor paint can be easily lifted from tape.
Tape is allowed on the protective mat
No spikey Shoes, or other sharp objects, allowed on the white mat
The mat is soft and can be easily damaged by sharp objects.
